CREAM OF BEAT

For over 20 years, the Pirate Djs have been producing this legendary event that caters to the 1990s hip-hop music era. Taking place twice a year, during the holidays of Independence Day and Thanksgiving, 100s of hip-hop heads converge to San Francisco to listen to the song choices of their favorite DJs (headed by Mind Motion, Ivan and Dark Money of the Pirate DJs), with the hopes of seeing a legendary legacy performance by one their favorite artists.

The shorts produced by San Francisco artist Brandon Murio, reflect past images of COB designs throughout the years. I decided not to attempt to design something new, especially because there is so much dope history in the existing artwork (originally designed by @joshing_uno of famed TRUE San Francisco).

The shorts feature a collage of a few of the designs. From afar, it just looks like a dope pattern, but up close, you can see the different faces of hip-hop artists, and some of the COB logos from the past.

Construction of the Brandon Murio shorts are made with heavyweight basketball mesh material, custom trim, and zipper pockets.
